Kirsty McDonald – Studio Founder & Pilates Instructor
I discovered Pilates 20 years ago after trying everything to cure an ongoing back problem – regular pain, instability, lack of confidence to approach physical tasks – not helped by years of sedentary office work. Pilates taught me how to align my posture & utilise my core – it felt like a miracle to be pain free after suffering for years. I was so motivated to share my passion for Pilates that I retrained as an Instructor. I’ve met lots of people at my Studio and my Gosforth classes who are reaping the benefits of stronger core muscles, reduced back pain and better posture.
My qualifications include:

Sharon started attending regular Pilates classes over 5 years ago after suffering from ongoing frozen shoulder and neck pain after a horse riding injury. She found it so beneficial and life changing, she decided to turn her passion into training to become an instructor. Sharon also teaches at a Riding For The Disabled Centre teaching horse riding to both children and adults and thoroughly enjoys given the riders the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and goals.

Growing up, Julia really enjoyed ballet, gymnastics and diving but at the time did not fully appreciate that many of the conditioning exercises were Pilates based. Julia continued to use gyms, pools and cycling to keep fit as she got older. Then in her late 20’s she discovered Pilates and it’s been a regular part of her life since. Balancing motherhood and a job, Pilates has been Julia’s tonic, helping to create balance in her busy schedule. Passionate about Pilates, Julia wanted to share the benefits of Pilates with others, so she decided to train as an Instructor so she could teach others how to find balance in mind, body and spirit.

Yoga with Ralf is a challenging and very rewarding experience. Ralf’s yoga classes focus on a postural or anatomical theme each week, this deep focus really encourages body awareness, control, stretch and strength. You will release deep muscle tension and discover your body’s potential under Ralf’s close guidance and helpful advice. A fun class for dedicated yogis!
